Good evening, Panthers!

 

This is Principal Curry with your weekly updates.

 

Our SEL word focus this week is Accountability. As coaches of instruction and character, our staff works hard to teach our scholars that every choice has a consequence—whether that choice is made when someone is watching or when they think no one is looking.

 

This week, we will place special emphasis on making good choices at the bus stop and while riding the bus. Please remember that poor choices on the bus may result in alternate transportation.

 

Parents, if your child receives a bus infraction, please do not address concerns or disputes with the bus driver. These matters should be handled through the front office by contacting our Transportation Manager. This allows our drivers to remain focused on their most important responsibility—getting our scholars to and from school safely.

 

A reminder to our Student Council representatives: there will be a Student Council meeting tomorrow. Parents, please pick up your student council member no later than 3:15 p.m. For additional details, please contact Mrs. Monroe, our Student Council lead sponsor.

 

And finally, Panthers, I have a very important personal announcement. It has been my absolute honor to serve as your Principal for the past three years. This October, I will retire as Principal of Parkview Village Expressive Arts Magnet School and from my career as a North Carolina educator.

 

I am incredibly proud of how much Parkview Village has grown over these past three years. Our scholars have grown, our school has grown, and our educators are prepared to lead our Panthers toward an extraordinary year of success.

 

I will truly miss serving this school community, and I will always carry a special place in my heart for the scholars, families, and staff I have had the privilege of serving. I wish each of you a wonderful year and an exciting future, and I will continue to keep you in my prayers.

 

So, Panthers, continue to Own the Stage, Inspire, Lead, and Shine Daily!
